Earthquake in Haiti...What about home?

My heart and prayers go out to all the people in Haiti and their families who are in mourning for their loss or uncertainty.  I pray that things are restored better than they were before.  What about home?

What about New Orleans that still hasn't been restored since August 29, 2005?  80% of New Orleans was flooded due to failure of federally built levee system.  It took the government three weeks to arrive in New Orleans, but the earthquake happened yesterday, January 12, 2010 and they are already talking about aiding Haiti.  Where was this help for your own citizens that were born here on American soil, pay taxes and work hard for a living?  It was still sitting in the governments pocket!!  Where were those ally countries to our aide?  Hiding behind their own government.  The news stated that it will take $2.0 billion to restore Haiti...Where is this money coming from?  Our tax dollars?  Is it just me or this doesn't sound right!  It was estimated to take $100 billion to restore New Orleans, but no talk of actually making that happen has been discussed.  There are many Americans out of work right now and all the government could talk about is helping other countries.  What about the help of your own people?  AMERICANS!!  Our government has its priorities out of line and its up to the American citizens to rise up and fight for our own support.

  1. For all those who would like to help and that can help, please give to the Wyclef foundation; I heard it was a legitimate Haitian Non-profit organization. Many prayers go out to all Haitians and their families.
